A lot of the big ones prefer customer rotation over retention. I switched a wireless carrier recently as well, first time in far too long (20 years?), and should have done it way sooner :) Cable/telco firms, they'll let you cancel, switch over, and then they'll call you the next day and treat...

There are so many TM domains for sale all over the place...surely you'll be fine, unless you're hosting something on there that's conflicting with the TM holders business, no? I mean, look at this...

The only thing I've noticed is that sometimes the first part may be taken, then orgs have to add the Canada bit to get a clean(ish) domain, ie: CompanyCanada.ca or CompanyCanada.com, etc.

Totally agree. I've seen a couple recently as well, but they were the type that you'd just expect to go down that rabbit hole... If you have nothing in your life except your 9-5, well then, as harsh as it sounds, you simply never lived to begin with.

When has CIRA ever checked someone's address? China has that passport requirement thingy (as of recently?), not sure about other extensions. Not sure how effective it is either. Could the registrars be restricting it based on the billing address? Other than that, anyone can just select the...

XYZ works well in this case as it's for a bunch of TLD's, so I think it works kinda nicely in that regard. Where do you put it? File it at the bottom under XYZ :)

Does GoDaddy ever refer to themselves as GD? Other than their GDDY stock symbol, and some backend names for certs, they tend to stick to GoDaddy from what I remember.
