Atom = waste of time for .ca

Their .CA domain valuations have totally gone to shit. I just ran through about a dozen of my past sales through their appraisal tool and I would have lost over $2M in revenue from just those sales had I sold at their valuations. Even the recent sales mentioned here for Shop.ca and Pay.ca had...

    Who has Starlink in Canada?

While I agree there's no need to wire every room of the house with cat5 and coax, I think it's premature to completely rule it out. Starlink is slow compared to cable and cable is slower compared to fiber. So a starlink subscription might be a good backup, but not primary. Consider wiring...

    Who has Starlink in Canada?

Yeah, my thoughts too, but if you live in the boonies, Starlink is a godsend.

    A little help with MyID

My understanding is that the owner also owns a major web development business working on huge projects for fortune 500 companies. So this little business is basically irrelevant to them. The support guy told me a few years ago that he'd been bugging the owner for many years to redesign the...

    A little help with MyID

MyID tends to get around to it whenever they get around to it. From my experience, there isn't any real need to worry, they do always get around to it. But it seems they work a few hours a week, and those hours are whenever its convenient to them, not you.

    TBR Drop - Aug 20, 2025

And note that it only goes to auction if at least 2 people bid $200 before the TBR session starts. Otherwise the highest bidder gets it outright, for the second highest bid price. Its a bit weird.

    Afternic vs Spaceship commission comparison

And I just love how someone with a 300 domain portfolio sells a domain and then thinks he has statistically significant data to make a comparison.

    Atom lander vs Spaceship lander

But their premium marketplace has a filter for TLDs, so..... Personally, I think it could default to .com, but premium is relative to the TLD, so the TLD filter makes perfect sense to me.

    Atom lander vs Spaceship lander

As a test, I paid for a few premium listings on Atom and the status is "review in progress" for a week now. Their support says it can take a couple weeks. That seems pretty ridiculous for a paid domain listing, no? Anyone else have experience submitting premium listings there? I submitted...

SOLD.tld Law.ai Sold For $350,000 USD At Sedo!

Yeah, it seems this should have been worth much more given the crap I see selling for 5 and 6 figures every day. But ultimately its the seller's decision. Sometimes cash in the pocket is needed though. It could be one of those things where they just want to close sales while the fad is hot...

    Godaddy - tax evasion?

Still crickets from godaddy. My thoughts: They should really make it clear to both buyers and sellers, exactly what the godaddy role is in every negotiation (buyer vs broker vs seller), and the tax implications for each, prior to negotiations. For example, will their commission be calculated...

    Buy Requests

Sometimes I think these buy requests are trolling a domainer they know owns the domain they want, but are trying to sucker them into selling cheaper than they would if the buyer initiated a direct inquiry.
