agreed, 30% or any commission is not necessary. if you have a strong key word or word combo that people want, they will find you
i find marketplaces are best served for names that are unique and creative (brandables)
i think its a matter of a person or group picking up personal names, directing it to a porn site in hopes of cashing in on the embarrassment of having your name associated the niche entertainment industry... obviously it most have worked in the past
yes, i agree
and for new domainers i would give it a good 3-4 years before you see a better balance of selling
just looking at my sold names over the past 7 years - it took an average of 4.2 years from acquisition to sale. with some name taking 10years and some as low as 2 months
110% agree with you there, I've seen and heard of a lot of bidders getting so angry they bid the auction to punish the other bidder(s)
Who ever gets caught on the last bid (sometimes they do, lol) ends up holding the hot potato!!!
I think people get caught up in auctions way to often, when their emotions take over, they end up spending more than they should and sometimes more than the name is worth.
I'm assuming the sale was negotiated on some marketplace or directly, and later set up the escrow transaction. Even if he didn't see the escrow email in junk, would he have inquired or wondered what happened to the sale?
