Is .ca trustee/proxy service actually allowed?

According to CIRA this type of service can't exist. A while back Peter Maxymych of emall.ca fame has explored this in detail has he wanted to open up the .CA resale market for his domains. He hired law-firms to explore ways to do this. The last venue he explored was using a Trust setup, but I...

WIPO doubles the speed of UDRP cases

That depends on how the registrar's software implements the change as @rlm already said. I did forget about that.

WIPO doubles the speed of UDRP cases

A lock does not affect the function of the domain other than not being able to transfer it. It will continue to resolve and you won't be stopped from making changes to zonefile records on your nameserver etc.

WIPO doubles the speed of UDRP cases

The headline of this thread had me confused at first. Why would anyone do this unless you had a pending sale for the domain. Never really a good idea if you are the recipient of a UDRP.

Studio.ca - curated names positioned as ventures

We once had a WHC client gathering in Gatineau (I think at the same time as WordCamp). @Spex and @BillSweetman attended. There's also @Spencer from CIRA there and @richard.schreier as well. From the top of my head.

    Is This Not Front Running?

What @DomainRecap said. There are people that are doing this for expiring "related" domains for years, which I guess means it's working to some degree. But if something works it doesn't mean you should do it. Now if a registrar would suggest backorders to their existing clients based on their...

Studio.ca - curated names positioned as ventures

I like nameit .ca better, but that's because I own it. Bought it right here from @jaydub . Named I read as name-d, as in nameserver daemon... but that's because I'm a nerd. I like it too.

Yeah I remember clients like that from WHC... Domainers are notorious for that, for sure.

What Is the Most Buyer Friendly Expired Domain Timeline Today?

The data when the renewals happen be able to confirm where the renewal sweet spot is. It's not something that I had a chance to look into in detail in the past, maybe @NiceNIC (thanks for starting this thread), WHC (@MarineN), @CanSpace, @bmetal or the other registrars can/want to share some...

What Is the Most Buyer Friendly Expired Domain Timeline Today?

From the registrar's side the grace period isn't great as the registrar is out of the money while you make up the mind whether to keep the domain or not. For most TLDs, there's an autorenew that happens and is deducted from the registrar's balance/credit and only credited back when the domain...
