SOLD.ca $14k sale of a .CA at DAN.com (1.Viewing)

Disclaimer...Not mine, name not revealed (nothing at Namebio either), and it happened 2 weeks ago

For those of you on Twitter, Leanne (https://twitter.com/leannemac) is has a talent of diving into the Dan.com transactions and providing stats.

Her post today revealed a huge .CA sale that is still not fully public. Overall, there were 4 .CA sales at Dan.com between August 8 and August 14th...none of them mine unfortunately :(

Congrats to the seller if you're a member here O:)

Dan Public Sales 8-14 August 2021
Below I have analysed all public Dan transactions (sales and lease starts) from 8-14 August 2021.

Huge thanks to Dan.com for supporting my work and to Alvin Brown for encouraging me to keep doing these breakdowns and introducing me to Data Studio.

Highlights:

* 837 public sales
* Highest sale of the week a .com $85,000
* Huge .co sale $81,600
* .ca sale $14,280
* Top .io sale was $13,860
* From the top 10 sales 5 were .com
* .com responsible for 67.7% of sales (567)
* .io 2 most sales with 27
* .co.uk is 3rd with 26
* 2 x $5k+ sales for .app
* a .capital sold for $9,900
* a .app sold for $5100
* a .land sold for $4080
* a .run sold for $4079
* 69 different tld sales in total
* Average sale $1004

HeHe, not so huge, I paid more than that for a few of my .ca's
 
Well it would be the biggest .CA sale since December, 2020 according to Namebio.
 
Congrats. But since lots of sales are private like yours, I can't read minds :)

Anyway, a $14k sale is huge in my books
 
Of course it is, I meant nothing else other than there are bigger non disclosed sales.
It is unfortunate but hopefully we will see some bigger sales posted soon.

Dan will probably report a number of them automatically because there is a setting in dan that makes sales private or reports them automatically.

I thought so too but not so sure anymore. I have that setting turned on and they never report anything, not to namebio or anywhere else anyway.

There were 15 "public sales" at Dan in July 2021, but not a single domain sale got published anywhere. Not sure how they define "public sales" but I'm starting to get the impression it only means you can see them happening in their blockchain sales data or whatever you call it (with no specifics).

And I believe there's only 1 single .CA sale on Namebio that has Dan.com listed as the venue, and that's because the seller reported it (not Dan).

You’re right 14K is huge but when you get your first sale in that range and then your second..etc….it starts to become like a game. I can’t recall how long it has been since I sold a domain under 15K :p
