TBR Drop - Dec 21, 2022 (1.Viewing)

Yes I saw the plan to release them in batches for three months.. but could it be a prophecy??
Anything more than 10K domains in the pool, would be considered a major drop I assume.

Decent TBR this week! Would love to acquire Pandora, but have a funny feeling I won't be able to afford it
Looks to be the best pick of this week. It’s just a matter if some will save their TBR money for the names being released in 2023 from CIRA.

I don't know what you're all saying... this week's list is super good :)

I saw that one, but I stand behind my statement that there are only 2 domains worth going to auction on this week, and both are right at the top of the WHC list.

It's not affording it that is the real problem, but paying a nosebleed price and then owning it for life.

Or getting a quick CDRP from a very notable woman's jewelry company that I think has a store or partner location in every mall in Canada. CDRP Panelist Claude Freeman wouldn't even have to go rogue to steal that one. ;)

Pandora's Cafe would have no issues using pandora.ca

Obviously, but are you or I Pandora's Cafe?

When I post, I am posting as a domain investor to other domain investors, and with such a well-known brand, and the CDRP's insane predilection towards giving prime domains to their corporate overlords, this is not a domain I'd be prepared to spend a ton of cash on.

I've read every single CDRP decision from the past few years (and lots before that) and it's pretty scary how easily the panelists just give away generic 1-word and LLL domains to tiny unknown companies (treating them as if they're Microsoft or Google), let along a jewelry giant like Pandora.

Given past CDRP precedent, it would be an absolute slam dunk proving TM notoriety (Pandora is literally in every major mall in Canada) and therefore automatic bad faith registration, so it really comes down to whether Pandora values the .CA domain for promotion.

One thing is for sure, you're not going to sell it to them for $100K. LOL

Or anywhere close IMO. I believe this domain is waiting to be hit with a CDRP. And with the way some CDRP’s have been going lately, I don’t think this one is worth the risk to spend a ton of money on.

Yes, I need everyone to agree with you so I can go in and pick it up for a couple hundred bucks :ROFLMAO:

Hardly, as I'd buy it for that.

It's all about risk-reward and I'm alluding to the $2.5K-$5K range where I think Pandora will come to rest, which is too big a risk for me when it just screams CDRP. I could do sooooo much more with that money in 2023 on the Restricted TBR lists.

And you just know that price will come back to bite you on the ass, when the panelists most certainly bring up the "huge $3500 price paid... why would else would he pay that much other than to resell it to a well-known brand like Pandora?" during their endless CDRP pontificating.

Plus, you get one female panelist and it's over before it starts, as they live and breath this stuff.

Well, Pandora went to WHC and OMI got snagged by MyID, which is exactly how I thought it would all play out.

Pretty weak week overall, and not much meat on the TBR bone after the top 4-5 domains. I grabbed a few stragglers just out of habit (it was definitely Lottery Ticket Day at the TBR), but the longer I stare at them, the worse they look, so I'm done staring.

On the plus side, I sold 2 domains this week so I can easily afford the potential blunder.
