This is an interesting thread by John Berryhill -

alert - Why You Can't Trust GoDaddy Brokers

John Berryhill posted communications between the broker, potential buyer, and owner (Post 35).

It does not look good. The broker appears to have said things that were misleading or simply untrue.
One of the false statements was used in the UDRP filing.

The UDRP itself is a "Plan B" that is DOA, but it still costs money to defend.

A shipful of idiots in that negotiation - the buyer and seller were $1K apart on price and instead of just paying it, the company launched a sure-to-fail "Plan B" UDRP that will not only land them and their lawyers in the Hall of Shame, but add some $$$ to any price they'll pay for the domain going forward.

You can almost hear the complainant's lawyer in the background "Don't pay a cent more Luther. We'll file the UDRP and we'll get the domain and you won't have to pay that squatter a penny!".

But the lawyers always get paid.

Thanks for posting! I've dealt with that broker myself...

And yeah, that lawyer needs to be fired. It is typical though, the hubris of many a lawyer will often prevail over common sense and doing the right thing for their client. This is a prime example of exactly that.
