Starting the week with the only bid so far

A member here gave me an idea for red.ca

Real Estate Directory

Not even close to 10K this week (only 8963) but what a pile of absolute crap.

I did a quick pre-look over the weekend and my eyes literally hurt reading through all that refuse. The worst part is that there are no good LLLs (and only one total), but there is a wide selection of premium LLN/LNL domains to peruse. :cautious:

Now that's money well spent, even on sale.

The last few weeks had to have been from ".CA Sale" promotions a year ago, and everyone is dropping their "what was I thinking?" garbage.

Only 1 bid so far, that probably says it all.

Well I'm sure Mr Alphabet and his cohorts will find some traffic domains to buy and gamblers will take their usual shots on lottery tickets, but I did not find a single premium domain on that list or even anything close.

Hey Frank,

Below, you'll find some of the hottest .CA domains available to backorder this week. These names will likely attract attention, so place your bid before 2023-06-28 at 2:45 pm ET sharp to get in on the auction.

If you're looking for something more specific, you can always search the full list with your own keywords.

Want to learn more about domains and backordering? ... We recommend you read about the lifecycle of a domain name, domain investing and domain backordering.

Don't see the name you want? Stay tuned for next week's backorder list!

Happy bidding!

Cheers,
Frank (Chief Domain Nerd here at WHC)

CD has already changed it's pricing it looks. What's next?

Damn, it's $18.88 now - I didn't see anything when I made the orders, but it shows up in your My Backorders section. Did I ever get jacked today.

And thanks so much for the notice CD - no email, no nothing.

And what is the use of doing that, as anything remotely valuable gets at least 2 bids and goes to auction and anything with 1 bid gets pushed to the back of the bus - essentially making it a hand register. :cautious:

$18.88 backorders is the regular price and still the lowest price compared to the others. $8.88 was a promotional price that was supposed to be for 3 months, but we ended up extending the promotion for an entire year.

Great, why didn't you tell anyone about it?

I didn't receive any emails and I didn't see anything on here.

lol, and didn't they swear they would never raise the price??
The registration, renewal and transfer fee will always be at cost price on RegisterDomain.ca, we never said the same for backorders on CatchDrop since $8.88 is well below cost price.

But for CatchDrop $18.88 per backorder will remain the price, $8.88 was a promo when we launched.

Again, no one is saying you can't raise prices, it's the total lack of communication we have a problem with. No emails, no notices, you can't expect us all to read your mind like Kreskin.

To be honest, I have been wanting to post it here, juts been extremely busy with lots of new updates and was going to make 1 announcement with all the updates.

I don't see why it's such a big issue, we are still the cheapest backorder fee for TBR backorders.

Yeah, that's just great.

And it's a "big deal" because no one advised us (your customers) about it. How is this very basic business concept so difficult to grasp?

By the way, your absolutely wrong about 1 backorders being pushed in back of the bus.
Only your backorders are in back of the bus, simply because you are the only one to submit your backorders 2.7 seconds before the cutoff. If you submitted them earlier it would not change a thing but only benefit you a better place in line.

Today we caught many 1 backorders and they were among the first to be registered, it's simply because those users placed their backorders earlier.!

Obviously, this is because WHC runs an "open list" that anyone can see, so bidding early there is a fool's games, and they're my first choice, so by the the time I get to the rest, there's not a lot of time left. P.S. it's more like 30 seconds.

BTW, I just got my "auction reminder" email from CD, but still nothing on the stealth TBR price increase.

Furthermore, CatchDrop caught today for users well know here on this forum, domains that were backordered multiple times on WHC at $35 or more for the simple backorder fee of $18.88 since there was only 1 backorder on CatchDrop for those domains.
