Nope, the DN favicon is different and dark blue

That one is Black, like I said they are subtle clues

You can see which ones were listed at afternic or Dan.com


Interesting fact as well, you can come back months later and look at those posts again and whichever domains are developed after TBR will show up with a shiny new favicon.

The favicon used is always the one in the index at Google, it calls to Google to display them.

Nope, but whoever it was, good for him/her - as "First Name + S" .CA domains are virtually worthless as profit-generating retail domains. And I should know, as I had a not-so-secret addiction to buying them.

For years I picked only the best ones from the TBR and amassed quite a collection, understanding they are far from premium, but thinking "certainly a few will sell". But in the intervening years I have only sold one of them, and that was to a company that wasn't even using it as a first name, but rather a brand with an S on the end. Just dumb luck. :LOL:

I have come to understand that people running a company like Mike's Consulting or Chloe's Salon do not think in those terms and want to use the 'Name + s + Sector' in the domain - apparently using a "Name +S" domain doesn't even occur to them. I know quite a few people who run businesses like this from garages to restaurants to bakeries and they've all confirmed this - Bob's Garage would much rather use bobsgarage.com/ca than bobs.ca.

Plus, the vast majority of these places are tiny operations and wouldn't have the capital even if they wanted to buy it.

This only exception is if the company is absolutely massive and wants to shorten their domain for online sales, promotion, email, etc., but these guys usually already own these domains (often in .COM) and aren't looking to buy new ones. Even a medium sized company like Mike's Computer Shop still uses mikescomputershop.com, while incidentally mikes.ca is only used as a forward to toujoursmikes.ca.

My fight against buying more worthless 'First Name + S' .CA domains is an eternal one ('Shirley (g) one of them must sell someday!' LOL), and so far I'm not even sure that Helens passes even my baseline. But I guess we'll see how good my willpower is at 2PM - hopefully some rubes will bid it into auction and save me from me collecting yet another 'lifetime renewal".
