There are rumours that Trump is going to court affluent Canadians and Canadian Business's with a 1:1 exchange rate if they move and bring their wealth to the USA.
That would produce a massive wealth drain from Canada probably turning us into a much poorer country.

He'd be hurting Americans if he did that. A strong middle class is what makes a nation powerful and prosperous, not a group of extremely wealthy aristocrats.
Moreover, it doesn't seem like a great idea to pick fights with your biggest trading partner.
A better strategy (not that I support it), might be to make it extremely easy for Canadians to invest in America and receive American citizenship or residence. That would be easier and smoother integration of Canadians into the American economy.

Sure, like that could happen. 3rd World/Developing Nation is the poorest you can get and Canada's economic indicators (under the Liberals) are already there.

the wealth and brain drain from Canada to US started years ago. if you want to earn top dollar and work for leading companies, its easier to do in the US than Canada. and taxes and gas are lower there. look at all the energy companies that left Canada. Trudeau Liberals have been hostile to business and US will become even more attractive for business and workers under Trump. I remember some quip Trudeau made about small business owners essentially being tax cheats, Trudeau is all about wealth redistribution, taking from the productive side and giving to government and the non productive.

And Trudeau is always insulting Alberta and trying to hamper business there, when they essentially pay for lifestyles of all the poor provinces like PEI, NS, NB, Newfoundland, and Quebec.
Alberta and BC are the only provinces not to need equalization payments from the Feds, while Quebec is always the largest recipient - their hands must hurt from holding them out all day and night.
