Please don't follow @ShaneCultra's advice in today's blog post, it's a federal crime. Here's my comment on the post for posterity:

I kept reading the intro waiting for you to say you're just joking, but it seems like you're being serious. That's illegal hacking and violates multiple subsections of the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA).

Unauthorized Account Takeovers are also explicitly recognized as a type of identity theft by federal authorities, and profiting from the action furthers the criminal intent. So you'd also be violating the Identity Theft and Assumption Deterrence Act.

They could also get you for wire fraud if you sell the accounts. And you'd probably also be violating multiple state laws as well.

It's also highly immoral, and violates the ToS of every social media platform.

On the plus side, you'll get free room and board from Uncle Sam for up to 10 years. So there's that. It's wild that you just admitted to repeat offenses of a federal crime.
