Seems like you were spot on.. No one is talking about anything and no results are being published.
Everyone seems to be embarrassed to admit they went after xxxxxx.ca, including the Registrars.

But once the TBR auctions start, people will still be bidding like drunken sailors, as good quality or bad, they still line up to spend money like it's burning a hole in their pockets.

I had that one on my list, but I am not going to pay auction-level money for non-English words or terms anymore. It's just not a sane strategy given that .CA is a hard sell to begin, and I'd rather just toss the cash onto the street and watch the kids dodge cars for it
 
I was surprised that none of the SEL/Backlink guys ordered this domain off the TBR, as it seemed to have lot of valuable traffic and backlinks:

Was it due to potential TM issues if someone recreated the Pandora jewelry site and then filled it full of gambling links? I personally have no use for the BS, but I see that someone did hand-reg it post-TBR.

Wow, reves.ca just sold for $900, which was quite a surprise to me. There is some SEO and backlink data, but nothing that stands out (ahrefs rated the domain at 21/100), so I have no idea what's going on here.

Reves is the French word for the (plural) 'dreams' and although I had it on my initial list, I only spend real money on French words when they're a) singular and b) very popular... and I still only have a single sale to my credit.

I picked up the domain I wanted at Grape

Worked well but the billing system there has real issues, can't seem to actually pay and get hold of my domain without errors in their control panel.

Even the email they sent me to pay threw out an error when I clicked the pay button.

TBR billing is manually done, so make sure you have a valid credit card on your grape.ca account, then just wait a day or so and they'll bill you and put the domain into your account.
