I just concluded a sale at spaceship and found the option better than bodis if you want to remain completely anonymous.

At bodis you are conversing via email with the end user and you also have to take payment so staying anonymous is difficult at best.

There are many reasons a seller may want to remain completely anonymous selling a domain name...

  • trademark potential
  • adult domain
  • protest domain
  • one you are simply not proud of
  • registered because of what one sees on the news
  • may contain a name (private or business)

Anyways, lots of different reasons, as you can see with my example above which I use as a test lander at spaceship.

Since the buyer gets none of your info and payment is handled by spaceship the 5% commission is a relatively small fee to pay to stay anonymous. I have successfully switched my remaining anonymous catalog domains from afternic to spaceship. I left my bodis listings where I did not care if my end user found out who I was and my public domains are running on my own lander.

So even though I don't use spaceship for my every day business I have found a use for them that works well for me.

What are you using for domain sales where you want to stay completely anonymous?

Buyer can see your name at Spaceship. That's what Spaceship rep said, how did you get around this?

Darn, I was not aware of this, that changes things for me. I was happy thinking buyer does not get end user info and only deals with spaceship.

I will have to rethink how I'm going to deal with the domains I don't want attached to my mapledots persona.
