I went to the bank at lunch last week and because the appointment ran late, I went to the Chipotle next door to grab a bite, and it was entirely empty. Like no one was in there at 12:30-12:40 or so, not even an Uber driver... it was kind of jarring.

But after paying for my takeout, $18 for one burrito, I'm not that surprised.

On that note, recently our family has been making our own burrito/salad bowls on the weekend and then heating them up all week. Cook some chicken, beef, hamburger, rice, quinoa, and slice up a pile of veggies, then combine into bowls. And they're fresh and taste great, and make you feel light and active, not weighed down and tired like most processed fast food. I'm probably adding years to my life by doing this.

And the cost is a fraction of what you would pay for someone to make an inferior "fast food" version for you.
