So unless you have had no internet for the last few days, you have probably heard about this restaurant in Toronto that defied lockdown restrictions and opened up for 3 days straight. On the 3rd day, he was arrested. Some of those charges are trespassing, intent to obstruct police, violating indoor dining rules, holding an illegal gathering and operating a business without a licence.

Was the police right in arresting this man?

They did way more than arrest him, they practically ruined his life.
I have a feeling that he will be back soon enough after posting his $50K bail. :)

I’m cheering for him!

Didn’t hear about it so typed Adamson BBQ in google and ...Speakers Corner DN.ca was listed second behind the globe and mail.

And I don’t agree with him doing that which I am sre is the opposite to most on this board :p

It’s always good to agree to disagree. If we were all alike in this world, we would be all boring each other!

I agree with him because I don’t believe lockdowns are the solution. I also believe that this virus is 100% real and masks do work.

I also believe that this is a PLANNEDemic and will be a part of something MUCH bigger..... But that’s a different topic for a different day...... Back to domaining. :)

It's hard to make sense of all the different conflicting rules and regulations.

would it be different if he was wearing a mask, promoting social distancing, and other guidelines that are in place, all while trying to
keep his restaurant open, and staff employed. I don't think he's farther ahead now, but he is on T.V.

I saw this the other day, not sure how accurate it is but I have been in a costco this week and it looks pretty accurate to me..

The school rules are a bit of a head scratcher.

Schools are insane, as a lot of them don't even have basic HVAC functionality, and most times, money from the government to fund AC and HVAC upgrades have been siphoned off elsewhere, like the teachers lounge or to sports teams. Some of these schools have zero airflow (other than in the main office and teachers lounge, where gov't unions require it) and they smell like a charnel house mixed with a Louisiana whorehouse.

Parents complain, the school board files for HVAC funds, the school gets it and suddenly there is a new scoreboard and stands in the football field, but no HVAC. Rinse and repeat.

The scammers thought no one would ever notice.... other than maybe during a mass pandemic, but that'll never happen right?

I really wish that dude was wearing a mask and making a best effort to stay open while social distancing. Then he'd have a very legit argument and I'd have supported him 100%, as would every other business owner in Canada. We were out for dinner with another couple at a pub last night. It was maybe 25% capacity, everyone spread out, everyone signing in, sanitizing, wearing masks until you got to your seat. They sat on one side of the table, we sat on the other. There's ZERO reason to shut a business down like that. They had a skeleton crew, but at least they were open and making a best effort to protect _and_ survive. We've been going out to eat more than usual, getting good service for once and always felt 100% comfortable with the situation.
