I won a TBR domain in February that I really liked, and I listed it in the latter half of March on the various sales venues.

Immediately I get a $400 min bid offer on GoDaddy, but I didn't want to deal with min-bids on this domain so I just let it expire. Immediately after expiring I get another $400 bid from the same buyer. Then another $400 bid after that one expired.

Then today what do I get in my email box? Yep, a fourth $400 min-bid, which I am also going to ignore.

At what point is this guy going to get the drift? I've done this before and if they rebid, it's at a higher level, but not this one - I guess he's playing the long $400 game.

We should run a pool on when Mr. MinBid either gives up or grudgingly opens his moth-filled wallet for more than the min bid.

I've got one where the guy sends me an email asking if a specific domains is for sale, every few months. I've gotten like 6 inquiries from him, he knows the price yet he re-inquires anyway. And he's using the same email address every time, as if I wouldn't notice. And normally he ghosts my response, so I wondered if they were ending up in spam folder or something. But then one time he actually responded with a "its all good" or something like that, so I know he's received my emails with the price. But he's back to inquiring again. Ugh. So yes, I am no longer responding to him too.

I'm half tempted to leave a nice little automated response the next time he fills out my form - and the form will say "message not sent due to you being an annoying moron!"

Maybe "Please check your couches for additional change before responding."

I had a $11K offer for one of my 2L sometime last November. The same guy decided it was time to make a new offer in March….. This one was for $2000. Maybe he thought I got amnesia and forgot about his $11K offer last year? 🤔

Maybe he was trying to trick you into thinking the domain is depreciating instead of appreciating :ROFLMAO:

And just when I thought he finally got the message and took off, the "buyer" is back with a record fifth $400 min bid.

Lol, no, I don't think they will ever get it. My theory is they're waiting for you to have a slow month and want to raise some cash. As long as you keep responding, I guess they keep thinking they have a chance. I'm just no longer responding to those repeat lowball offenders.

Due to the current high inflation rates, we regret to announce a 50% increase in our domain prices. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding during these challenging times.

I saw some commercial with little kids running a lemonade stand complaining about prices of cups and supply chain issues, hilariously on point as every business is using any excuse to jack prices and tips. And I'm definitely sick of the tipping ridiculousness too. I'm going to start including a mandatory 18% tip feature when I build my own domain-for-sale landers, lol.

But that's the point of my original post, that I have not responded at all, yet he or she keeps sending the exact same min bid offer over and over and over and over and over. I just let the offers expire and then a new one appears like magic.

You'd think at some point they'd either a) leave me alone or b) increase their bid.

That's the fun of hosting your own landing pages. When the same email submits the form repeatedly, you can inform them their message was sent straight to the trash!

And a sixth $400 min bid just appeared on my phone. :D

Have you considered that maybe the 'buyer' is a bot that is scripted to submit min offers (on lots of domains) in the hopes an unsuspecting owner agrees to the offer? We all know that some bad actors in this industry have run similar scripts to spam the whois records with lowball offers.

and they use a database many years old, so you'll get lowballs on domains you sold many years ago for 25x higher.

Sure, as I've been hit with those (multiple min bids at GD at the same time) but it's doubtful in this case as it's only this guy and 'bots don't repeat this strategy on the same domain 6 straight times. That's something only an entitled, whacko human being does.

Just wait, if I ever reply with a realistic counter, I guarantee I'll get an indignant reply back.
