HostPapa acquires AI domain marketplace Brandpa

I have a bit of inside info on @HostPapa

I have had numerous hosting accounts with them for a number of my businesses and I know a few of the back end people.

I have had good times and not so good times at Hostpapa, they have a strong backbone, good service, great control panel yet a number of shortcoming that make it difficult to run a business on their hosting.

They have always registered domains, had a few with them and I figured they would eventually get into the domain name business. I had a couple of hints over the years and if you ask me this is only the first acquisition with a few more surprises to come.

Interesting move by HostPapa. But it appears Brandpa isn't a Canadian-only marketplace, which I think there is space for.

Remember Hostpapa runs on both the .ca and .com, they are bigger than people realize.

I absolutely realize that. They are a total cross-border shop at this point, which is why Brandpa makes perfect sense.
