Going into our local Best Buy this beauty of a .ca domain caught my attention...

Sadly they let it drop... the only crawl I could find on Archive.org was in 2013.

Those long names actually make sense. I can see someone misspelling reconciliation but if someone is buying a name like that for personal or other uses, they wouldn’t even look at that.

As great as it is to have a short domain. Most people these days don’t even type anything in the URL bar. They type it into google and click link to the website. The length of the domain is no longer as important as having SEO and ranking high in google.

Agree! SEO is so important for online businesses. The hardest part is finding SEO companies that actually know their stuff. We are on the hunt for an SEO company right now...leaning towards using the same company that is rebuilding our main candycrave candy site from the ground up.

If you can get the short version domain that matches your idea, great, if not choose from a coined term that will work as a brand. As for us, we switched from the category-killer domain, to a coined-term domain (Cost $10) that is now our brand.
