I wish .ca would do the same

If you're going to mandate Canadian presence requirements then it should be public to assure compliance.

That would do nothing other than opening the floodgates to all the 3rd world scammers to start spewing Canada with fraudster crap. After all, registering a .CA does NOT require a Canadian address, only some type of Canadian citizenship, or in the case of a company, a recognized TM.

I know a couple of domain investors who live in Barbados and I have sold several domains to multi-national companies existing outside of Canada.

Keeping whois public, how do you deal with the relentless phone calls offering website services?

Be far more worried about fraudsters using your personal data to try and social engineer their way into your other accounts.

What I would like to see is a KYC of beneficial owners of .ca domains. CIRA could mandate that a registrar enforce KYC type rules so that the first time you create a registrant profile that you have to verify it with a passport/ID/corporate registration, etc... A registrar could even be allowed to charge a nominal fee for that one time setup. And in theory you just do that once because you can ensure all your domains are tied to the same contact.
