Does the exact Twitter handle add value to a domain?

If you own a short domain name that represents your brand do you think the exact twitter handle match adds value to your brand?

Twitter seems the be the top tool most companies use to communicate with the public and as such it is becoming more and more important to procure your brands twitter handle.

What is a twitter handle?

Your username –– also known as your handle –– begins with the “@” symbol, is unique to your account, and appears in your profile URL. Your username is used to log in to your account, and is visible when sending and receiving replies and Direct Messages. People can also search for you by your username.

Have any members been able to get a direct match to their business brand?

From my experience as a Buyer Broker, only a small portion of my buyer clients care (much) about the exact match social media handle(s), and an even smaller subset care enough to pay serious money for them, rarely more than 10% of what they paid for the .com domain. If you own a great domain and you already have the exact match handle(s), great, hang on to them to offer as a package deal to a sophisticated buyer, but don't expect to get much if any extra money for the handle portion of the package. Of course it all depends on the buyer...

The only handles I'm interested in securing are ones for my own use.

Presumably, a company that can pay 5 figures for a domain has the time and money to procure their handles. This way, the added time does not reduce my ROI, provided it's free, nor have a real impact if not.

Who's to say that the company will have at all a large social presence too? It'd be a waste for me to do their work and not get much from it as they're wanting the domain only—don't complicate things.
