Domain Gang is at war with GoDaddy (1 Viewing)

I'm not sure I agree with him, one should never close their doors in business.
I personally don't like what GoDaddy has done with the 25% no nameserver commission so I removed my domains from godaddy auctions and dan.com but I don't think I would close my accounts or not do business with them.

GoDaddy has some really good innovation lately and I'm excited to see what they have coming next.

I figured if someone contacts me from godaddy for a domain the buyer now has to pay the commission since my domains are no longer listed. I had them contact me like that on a domain already and I have to say the Zero percent commission is quite attractive.

So for me godaddy has gone from 9% dan to 15% dan to 0% dan.

Truthfully, they probably will get 5% from me because I intend to push my 10k plus sales to dan or escrow depending on how I feel.

So yes we can lessen our footprint at godaddy but I would suggest keeping all doors open to maximize the potential of any future sale.

Note he did not say eliminate them from your business merely reduce their impact on your business which IMHO is damned good advice. for any one who is serious about the domain space it is hard if not impossible eliminate them completely from your business given their domain nant position in the marketplace but reducing your relationship with them to a minimum is what I have done. I can only vote with my $ and the companies that fail to serve me don't get it
