I ask because pre-WHC takeover, Siber used to close down TBR bidding at around 1:45-1:50 (it was random) and give you the old "come back at 5PM for the results" message, but now bidding is apparently open from 2PM onwards til maybe 4 or 5PM. I can physically place bids right now if I wanted to, and even if it doesn't work, it still looks bad,

Personally, I am little concerned at the potential for fraudulent abuse using post-auction bids to get a domain or get into an auction, but I'm not sure if this is actually possible or the system just makes it "look" like it's possible.

Right now, at 3:35PM, over an hour and a half past the TBR run, I get this screen for any domain I enter at Siber:

What would happen if I placed a $250 bid at 4PM? Would it get added to the pot and put me in the auction for Pastel.ca?

That's why I carefully collate the "top bids" on any auction I am part of at exactly 2PM, thereby protecting myself from any fraudulent post-auction bidding (if it is even possible), but I would appreciate an official answer on the "TBR bid close time" from the WHC brass.

Thanks.

And as another DN member let me know, the top bid on Pastel.ca has now increased by $100 since I posted that image at 3:35.

But the question remains, what next-bid price will appear at 5PM when the auction opens, the correct $250 or the post-auction next-bid of $350?

Okay, it looks like Siber is playing it the right way, and the next bid on Pastel.ca remains at $250, but Siber/WHC really needs to SHUT DOWN BIDDING HARD at 1:45-1:50 like they used to, as this post-auction bidding availability just looks real sketchy.
