Broker: messaged me through the CIRA form with a whopping opening offer of $200.
Me: didn't reply

April 4:
Broker: messaged again through CIRA form with no change in offer, but instead asked for a price.
Me: didn't reply

April 14:
Broker: messaged again through CIRA form with "If you’re not interested at any price, please say so"
Me: didn't reply

April 24:
Broker: messaged again through CIRA form with no increased offer, just a "Would you be willing to discuss a potential selling price?"
Me: not replying

So am I an asshole for not replying? Before you say yes, note that the domain lists the price and has a contact form, lol, yet they keep going straight through the CIRA form.

What cracks me up is that he's very persistent for a whopping $200 offer. Not sure I've ever seen anyone work so hard for a $40 commission (which I assume they don't even get all of).

I don't traditionally respond to anything under $1,000 so I'm with you on this one.

I have a domain that took me 11 years to acquire using the CIRA form, with no response I simply upped the offer once annually and eventually the domainers sold. I gave him lots of time to think about it and with the history of increases he knew exactly what my yearly increased offer was.

Eventually he decided the money was better than the wait for more.

Yesterday I had a lawyer from a reputable company write to me through the CIRA contact form” My client is interested in purchasing the domain name xxxx.ca and would you be willing to sell it and at what price?” - All the while when you type in the domain name, it lands on a page which says this domain is for sale and the minimum to offer.

I can’t get over this.
