Not using afternic DNS 25% commission required (1.Viewing)

Just imagine selling anything else, your house, your car, your used couch or anything other than a domain.

Would you give up 25% ??

So if a domain fetches 400k would you give up 100k?

Imagine if someone asked you for a commission like that when you sell your house.

I will never understand anyone giving up that much.

I would give that much if they earned it, like if you had a good generic and they did cold-calling on potential buyers and found a buyer. Ultimately, you don't have to accept the sale. But you can negotiate based on your net take, and if you're happy, you're happy.

I don't feel like the typical broker relationship earns anywhere near 25% though, especially these platforms that just rely on your own traffic.

Plus real domainers have to pay income tax, in Canada there goes another 50% unless you have enough expenses to offset the income.

A tip here.... Renew your domains for 10 years to create an expense to offset the income.

Then when you sell a few, relocate to the Bahamas.

PPS. I hear there there is a platform charging up to 30 percent, I have to dig back to find out who that is.
