Just curious has anyone found the "Secret Sauce" for a cold outbound marketing campaign for Domains?

I have sent out thousands of emails/messages etc with very limited success or for that matter replies in general.

Any tips, what to say what not to say, and how do you track open rates and mail movement?

Outbound works for me on my lower priced domains but as soon as I ask for anything substantial outbound seems to fizzle. Some will say you give away your negotiation hand with outbound as well and are better off to wait for contact.

Personally I do both, if I find an extraordinary good match I will often contact a candidate and there really is no secret sauce, you have to customize the email to the client.
 
I don't do outbound. But if I were, I agree with [notify]MapleDots[/notify], each one will have to be customized to that client - which will take work - which is why I don't do it. However, I'd suggest just sending out a feeler email first, without a price, to minimize upfront work. If they come back interested, then you can put in some effort as needed.
