The main downfall with outbounding is that you're going to the leads rather than let the leads come to you.

This, naturally, makes it more difficult for the domain your outbounding to command a top/high price as buying the domain was your idea and not theirs (unless you somehow knew they were already interested).

So outbounding might help in the sense that you can close a deal more quickly (e.g. in a matter of months rather than possibly wait decade+), but you're ultimately almost certain to sell the domain for less than what it's potentially worth, and than if you waited for the right buyer to come to you (which may still never happen in your lifetime).

I know it depends on a lot of factors, including the domain and prospect, and outbounding is probably best for liquidating, but what's the highest price one could ask for when outbounding a .CA domain without upsetting the prospect?

Has anyone here ever outbounded a .CA domain where they got 5+ figures or what they actually wanted (ie their top price)?

And do these big .COM brokers sometime proactively seek out buyers on behalf of the sellers, or do they mostly just handle incoming leads?

It has been a while since I did outbounding, but I had good success with domains that were geographical area + product/service.

I could buy at $10 - $50 and sell for $500 to $1000.

Typically sent out 20 to 30 emails.

Not every domain sold, but it was a good way to build up some capital for longer term holds.
