Request transfer code directly from CIRA (1 Viewing)

Is it just me or is the resigned a hot mess?

No search, no list of links, no complete listing of resources, everything is huge on laptop.

Personally I don't care for it one bit and I love change, but this is not change for the better.

Even in whois it's an extra keyclick to actually sjow the whois information.

I don't like it at all and it's quite obvious this "redesign" was done to highlight the CIRA's many, many, many, many charitable and grant initiatives rather than provide the rank-and-file with a functional website.

Just look at the links on the main page - absolutely none for TBR, WHOIS, or anything I actually use. Just CIRA self-promotional social justice plans to give away our money.

Someone needs to explain to the CIRA execs what CIRA means. It's not a freaking charity, it's NOT the Charitable Internet Revenue Accumulator, it's the Canadian Internet Registration Authority.

@MapleDots @DomainRecap I agree with both of you on this. Why fix something that was not broken to start with. I am sure somebody had to get paid for the redesign.. so be it. But it didn't make life easier at all. Wish they had a poll on that, rather than the other ones they send from time to time. May be it's not not too late to have a poll on the newly re-designed website. It is not at all better by any stretch of imagination, as far as I am concerned. But then I am just one person.. why would CIRA care about me?? Or should they??

This is the kind of think you do when you want to siphon money to your friends and family members, by hiring a "consultant" that says you need a site redesign.

They need to burn cash on crap like this or literally give it away, yet somehow they need to raise prices. We all call bullshit. But as I've said for at least a decade, this is mandate creeping empire building at its best. All off the back of the .CA monopoly. I'm all for them doing any of this stuff, but go do it under a new company with your own effing money, not mine. Compete in the Canadian business landscape like any other business, not with the distinct advantage of free cash from the .CA monopoly. When it comes to the .CA management, I've been happy with what they've done for the most part, but it should stop right there. I don't understand how this is justifiable.

I think one of CIRA's executives got hit in the head with a puck and now thinks he works for the United Way.

@rlm we have released the production feature to have an auth code emailed to the domain admin contact on request, check out:

Domain Transfer Authcode

This section on the CIRA website is hard to find, I had to come back here to get the link for the authcode send.

On the CIRA site I did a search and could not find this section. It should be somewhere easy to find under the ".CA domains" section.

Agreed, I put them all on the main page of the forum so they are in one place

code.dn.ca will get you there

transfer code feature on Cira does not seem to be working at the moment. sent them a message

Still not working, is there an update on this?

I used the service today, I'd suggest CIRA make it mandatory that all registrars have an automated way of disclosing the transfer code to the domain owner. Without naming the registrar I'm flabbergasted I wasn't able to retrieve my transfer code from them last night. Thank goodness for this service.
