With my success listing at Dan.com I decided to list my domains at sedo as well.

Got the typical email...

Please note that the ownership of the domains listed below could not be verified automatically.
Your domains will be deleted from your Sedo account within 10 days after listing the domains, in case you do not use any of the options below to verify the ownership of your domains.

We kindly ask you to verify that you are the current owner of these domains by using one of the following ownership verification options:

a) Recommended: The fast Self Verification method
Simply add your personal Domain Ownership Verification ID to your domain's DNS information at your registrar: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

See how to self-verify your domains here.

b) DNS Verification method
Forward the DNS Servers of the domains to NS1.SEDOPARKING.COM and NS2.SEDOPARKING.COM Learn more about Domain Parking here.

c) WHOIS-Verification
Remove the Privacy Protection of your domains so that the registrant information is visible via a WHOIS search and inform us for a manual ownership verification. (Please note that the technical update of such changes can take up to 72 hours. May not be offered by every registrar due to privacy policies)

If you are not able to use any of the owner verification methods listed above or you have further questions regarding the owner verification process, please contact us at security@sedo.com. Please add your login name and the domains in question in your email.

Please note that

We thank you in advance for your support.

Best Regards,

Your Sedo Team

Since my nameservers point to dan.com the easiest way would be to point them temporarily at sedo but I am hesitant to do that. I have a number of transactions in process at dan and do not want to jeopardies them.

So since a lot of these domains are at godaddy I thought self verification of some sort but it seems I cannot find any bulk action to do that.

Anyone have experience with godaddy and bulk sedo verification?

Not sure, but you could contact Sedo support and provide them with an excel sheet you can export from GoDaddy as proof (or similar proof in bulk), and maybe they'll just approve them all in one shot. Might be smart to add the domains the Sedo first, before you contact Sedo, so the domains are already pending when they consider it. That would be more efficient for them, and therefore might increase your chances of it working. Plus if you tell them you have 500 domains (or thousands), then I think there's a good chance they'll be happy to accommodate you, since it's also in their interest.

All that said, I'm not sure it's worth the effort to list at Sedo. I say this after relying on them as my go-to marketplace for almost 10 years, which I now feel was a terrible mistake that likely made me lose out on a ton of sales. I could be wrong since I know others have had better luck than me there, but even those people have now moved on to marketplaces like Dan.

I've said it before, Canadians are rather prudent online and I'm sure the average Canadian wouldn't trust Sedo upon visiting them for the first time. Their landers are far from great but the absolute worst part is the GIANT cookies pop-up that appears whenever potential buyers visit your domain lander. It's horrendous and if I didn't know any better I wouldn't take a step further clicking, let alone give them my credit card. Transactions also take an easy 2 week minimum to complete, for .CA domains anyway. And they can't accommodate pushes for .CAs either. Not much positive to say unfortunately...

I bought a few dozen .ca's from Sedo, a lot of them are old listings but over the years I've snapped up a few bargains.

Recently I even posted about John.ca being available on Sedo at 5k and a member from here snapped it up.

Oh I don't doubt it. Us domainers are very familiar with Sedo so that makes sense, but domainers buying from domainers is far from the same thing as closing deals with endusers (or the average Canadian).

And sure, listing them there can't hurt... I still do it, but only to list (for the odd chance someone might bid there) and not to use their landers.

I went and found an example (not mine).

This is what people see when they visit your domain on mobile:

I don't know what it is about the EU and their damn cookies policy, I never see that because my ad blocker blocks cookie notifications so I would never have seen that.

I have my nameservers pointed elwhere so nobody would ever see that, I was just hoping to have the listings.
