The TBR auctions seem to get attention and action at times. If they accepted some quality .ca domains from investors to throw in there, it would be another outlet for sales. They already have the auction system set up and the eyeballs every week. Limit to 10 or 25 ‘private’ listings so it’s not out of hand, low or no reserve. You wouldn’t get top dollar but you’d get the highest wholesale value at the time, a chance to move some names when you need to, and registrars get some commission. Might cut into the TBR prices, but also adds some diversity in low quality TBR weeks.

I did ask and the response was, “They are going to look into it.”

Maybe if they gain enough interest from the public, they might put it in place. That would be a desirable result.

CatchDrop had that planned but alas since they stopped participating in TBR that is dead in the water.

there is probably a way to make it work, the pitfalls would be a glut of mediocre submissions and high reserves. but the TBR auctions show there is some level of demand for quality names when the listing will guaranteed sell to the highest bidder. the TBR auctions get the highest number of weekly eyeballs in a .ca sales venue.
