"Twas the Night Before Christmas and all through the house not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse"

I remember rushing to bed on Christmas Eve, not just to await the arrival of a certain red suited man, but also to experience the moment when my mum would pull out our much loved illustrated copy of the poem and would begin with those magical words. I recall sitting stock-still beside my sister as we imagined that if we were as still as could be, maybe we’d hear the jingle of sleigh bells from on high. I don’t think that I’ve been able to replicate that feeling of heartfelt anticipation since.

There is something so inherently charming about this poem – it truly is Christmas captured just as it should be. Children dream of sugar plums and Santa has a cheerful glint his eye which fills the reader with all the feelings that should be felt during the festive season. The rhymes are delightful and, if you are lucky enough to get your hands on an illustrated copy, the Christmas figures from the poem are rendered perfectly by the host of skilled illustrators who have given their interpretations over the years.

A real treat and the source of some of the most delightful lines in festive literature, this poem is certainly one to be added to your December reading lists. Whether you enjoy the poem alone or share it with family and children, we thoroughly recommend delaying that ‘long winter’s nap’ for just a little bit longer and losing yourself in the magic of Clement C Moore’s timeless festive poem.

"Merry Christmas to all and to all a goodnight!"

Can you guess what it is?

The latter one was actually in use before for an event in Toronto that I helped with for a bit at one point.

I don't really have any, with the only one that even remotely qualifies being:
