Swetha's Sales The Truth May Shock You! (2 Viewing)

Swetha’s Sales – The Truth May Shock You!

Yesterday there was quite the stir on Twitter after Swetha reported another batch of jaw-dropping .xyz sales. User @JackDomainer did some research and found that an overwhelming majority of her sales were still not developed, which he thought was suspicious given the price tags. Theories started flying around, and even the Castello Brothers and Rick Schwartz chimed in with vague statements alluding to some grand conspiracy.

Grab some popcorn and read it for yourself here:
Swetha's Sales – The Truth May Shock You!

I have chatted with her a few times and she seems nice enough but short of the whole covid conspiracy theory I have never seen a conspiracy theory like this in domaining.

I have not taken sides either way, I am hoping everything is real because it is good for domaining.

A scam would be bad for the entire industry.

Well, very happy for Swetha and a great job by Michael to have done what he did. It's a daunting task to be bold enough to ask for the username, password etc. Hats off to Swetha and it's funny how the candidate was even picked in this case amonst the many who report these sales. No one seems to be picking up on that or is willing to admit except for Haroon. It would have turned out to be a SBF/FTX story in the domain world, but Swetha saved the day.

It's a soap opera

If he spent that much time and effort on his business instead of worrying about someone else's business, he would be pulling in similar sales.

My take on this has not been that the sales are faked, but that Swetha has a connection with the XYZ registry owner and is essentially handling and reporting direct registry sales (and sales from registry leads) in order to build momentum and help draw in more private investors.

It would fit, as she has all these miraculous sales, while everyone else is floundering with industry-low STR rates and wondering how she does it. Afternic recently issued some data and it showed XYZ at the very bottom (by a long shot) of the STR chart.

It just doesn't make sense that Swetha is a 100% above-board private seller with no link to XYZ, and just happens to be the luckiest salesperson on Earth. I don't buy that.

Yeah, I'm not going to outright call it bullshit, but I am certainly skeptical too, it seems that there's more to this story somewhere.

I like this explanation - makes sense and no conspiracy involved or faking of sales.

For some reason, most of the registries (not just for XYZ) seem to sell the bulk of all premium domains that are sold, despite the efforts of domainers.

Exactly, and even if Swetha is just being fed registry leads, it would add a lot to her bottom line.
