this is one of those WTF? drops where you see a lot of domains that should never be dropped, so it makes me think WTF happened? some really nice big city 'realestate' domains, despite how cheap realtors are and how hard they can be to sell at a good price.

I mean who drops 'photograph, federal, steps, newsroom'??

'charts' is a nice domain to use for navigation or stock charting...

I can almost guarantee every single one of these realestate domains is going to be a poor investment. In Canada, regional real estate marketing is entirely branded around the Realtor's name and they simply won't pay real money for these types of domains. These are all tier 4 cities, I've owned the equivalent for bigger tier 2 and 3 Canadian cities and even those don't sell (people just want to redirect the URL to their existing website and therefore aren't willing to invest much). Some of these cities are also extremely small markets. For example: I see MonctonCondos.ca is available for hand reg, which tells me the MonctonRealEstate.ca TBR price will likely be above what any New Brunswick Realtor will ever pay.

the realestate domains went so cheap. I just have to shake my head that realtors don't see the value. Not that realtors were bidding on these, but the final bids just show what the resale market is like. I mean, if real estate is your main profession in a town like Belleville, then bellevillerealestate.ca should have some pretty good value to you. Some of the final prices today barely would cover a real estate ad in the local newspaper. Even if you don't use the domain, you prevent your competition from using it.

Personally I think you'd a time machine to make any real money off those domains, especially as the average realtor thinks their first (or last) name in .CA should cost no more than $10.

At least with [city]homes.ca or [city]condos.ca property developers may be potential buyers. With [city]realestate.ca your buyer pool is basically Realtors only, and very few of them seem to see value in such a domain.
 
Ah, it's nice to hear old stories about a Canada where people actually paid for their domains.

It used to be that DAN (the Deadbeat Acquisition Network) was the prime source of hobos and bums, but now I'm regularly getting jacked on GoDaddy and Afternic as well.

I feel really bad for the Afternic brokers having to waste their time with these penniless knotheads.
