Someone (not me) paid over $600 for Takeaway(dot)ca in overtime auction today at Sibername so someone thought that was a decent domain. And it is. Congrats to the winning bidder.

Hmm

I don't ever remember saying TakeAway

I do say TakeOut

I wonder if it is going to be used in the food industry?

The argument could be that the .com resolves to SkiptheDishes. I am NOT the one who won the auction - just to be clear. Hope it all works out good to the winner.

Wasn't me either. I briefly considered it, but passed. I figured that it would be one that certain domainers would go after and run the price up to more than I'd be willing to pay for it, and I was right.

Canadian usage is like 10 to 1 in favor of TakeOut vs TakeAway. Note that TakeOut is the north american variant (US and Canada), TakeAway is the Brit/Aussie variant.

The one thing I say it has going for it is that it rhymes with the .CA . Take-Away-dot-cee-eh. Would make for a better jingle or something. But it would also require more effort to retrain canadian thinking.
