TBR Musings - June 29, 2022 (1.Viewing)

Who would have let blog.ca drop in the first place??

was a week with a few good to great names, and the rest not so much.

It was a weird week with a few unexpected registrars coming in and scooping up some of my hidden gems!

Wow that could have been very tricky but they survived I would say.

Damn, I was going to bid on blog, was in my basket but I forgot about TBR as I was coding on the forum yesterday.
Not sure what your budget would have been on this one but definitely went for way more than I thought.

On a side note and not sure if it’s been brought up but it’s nice to get emails from WHC on the final prices of the TBR’s that you have participated in. Great addition by WHC for the inquiring minds.

These ending prices are also on your WHC account, under Archived Backorders.

And yes, Blog.ca went for higher than I thought as well, while a few others went lower than anticipated. I think two whales really wanted Blog and fought it out over the open sea.

I was a bit of an idiot today, as I lost out on 3 domains I really wanted (2 of them went to esoteric and unexpected registrars) so I ended up buying a few second-tier ones on WHC and MyID just out of spite. Never a good idea for the wallet, but still quite satisfying in its own right.

Had no idea. Maybe I should spend more time on WHC. Thanks.
For another tidbit, if you won the domain your original sales price will always be shown within Managing Domain details, in the Billing Overview section, under First Payment Amount.

There is also a page up already. First time seeing that one. Would love to know who bought it. Maybe someone here?

I would probably have stopped at 7.5 myself because the blog commercial industry is pretty well established so you have to find a retail client. Other than personal blogs I cannot see a business using just blog.ca.

I was thinking that before, so a retail person has to really want this for a blog and then it is pretty non descriptive. For 10 bucks I can do MapleBlog.ca or something.

I cannot say I am not jealous but there are some if's attached to this one... like if only the .com was sitting on a huge site or something.

Anyways good luck to the owner, my favourite that ever got away from me is still pixel.ca
