Oh crap. It just dawned on me that Tia was a domainer's domain - which he bought for his daughter Tia - who used it for her website to showcase her songs/singing. I hope this was just an oversight and not a sign of something worse. I'm trying to contact him now... anyone know him? I know of him, but don't really know him...

I'd bet it didn't cost her a penny. My guess is that this is Mike Ber's daughter. As in Mike dot ca. And it seems Mike is redirecting several of his domains to Tia.ca.

Yeah, looking at archive.org is what helped me connect the dots.

I reached out to mike by linked in and a phone number I found - but no response.

Even though tia looks interesting, I have hundreds of LLL's and I haven't sold one in years, and I haven't even been asking crazy prices either. So it might be tough getting a reasonable return out of that one.

I've had the same experience and it seems that the LLL market has really slowed down the last few years. It is tough to match them up to a specific company vs a short dictionary word, but this one is a bit more flexible as it's also a first name.

Lol, yes, and first names are the other category I've spent good money on in TBR and have never sold one...

This is potentially a case of passing off a domain to someone else and then they let it expire. Accidentally or not. I am not sure if this is the case here but it is a worry that will be in all our future if we pass off domains to our children.

Very much so.. They should have a taste of ownership if we are to have some comfort.

I bought a portfolio a few months back and now have numerous first name domains.

Too bad the Realtors were not biting the first name market, although a few did. But not enough of a size to justify it. The next big market was the Politicians. But they too are not sold on the First name alone, except for the likes of Justin.ca and Chrystia.ca and few others.

Remember how Justin Trudeau got his name and from whom he bought it. I become nostalgic when I think of those days.

Just an FYI that all is not lost, as I finally (after several non-payments) did sell the AMIN ca name that you dropped.

Personally my ceiling would have been $800 for it which makes me chuckle because it went for exactly twice that.

... and change.

It's definitely a good one, being both a first name and an LLL with premium letters.

I said 2k o_O …lucky guess…it went for $1951

It doesn't count when you're the one bidding on it. :D

*ROFL* …it was over what I wanted/hoped it would go for
