ok, who sold or at least previously owned the highest ranking domain on the list? (the complete list, all 4909 domains).

I've had a bunch of domains in that list at one time or another, including, thesource, creditcards, gun-shop, koho, mtseymour, rockport, tradewinds, etc.

The highest ranked one came in at #150.

Some I sold to the end user, some I sold in a bulk sale of thousands of .ca domains to a domain holding company, some I actually let drop. In fact, at least 4 of the domains in that list that I _dropped_ were subsequently registered, not sure if by a domainer or the end user.

Strangely, one domain in that list is a very recent acquisition of mine (less than a month). And even stranger, I decided to experiment with a buy-now button and a buyer has already hit the buy now button on it and created an account at Escrow.com this weekend - not sure if they'll follow through, but the transaction was started, just waiting for payment to come through.

It just goes to show you that one man's trash is another man's treasure. So next time you're thinking of dropping a domain, just remember I dropped at least 4 that wound up in the top 5000 .CA websites list. Doh!

I can see domains showing up in top 20, 60, 150 and 300 and a couple in top 800, Well those were end users of course who bought it. Only checked up to 1000. Interesting indeed.

Its no fun if you don't name drop!

Pretty painful exercise to go through 5000 names 100 at a time, but I did it

Didn't see any of my sales or drops there, so I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing

From the top 50 websites in Canada 14 of them are .ca's

Interesting. At least most of the .COM websites own the .CA as well.

I only checked those in the top-20, but the only websites/companies that don't own the .CA is wikipedia.org and office.com.

Wikipedia.ca has privacy on and was only registered not too long ago, and office.ca is owned by Yellow Pages.
