Anyone have issues transferring .ca’s out of Rebel? I did a request yesterday and I’m still awaiting the auth code. It’s supposed to be automatic. I haven’t transferred a name away from there in a while but if I recall, I received the auth code right away. I sent 2 requests yesterday for the code during the early afternoon and also emailed them last night. I normally don’t care but the problem is that the buyer already paid and I told him I would have the auth code.

Congrats on the sale. When it comes to Rebel, I don’t remember having and problems with getting auth codes, but then again I haven’t transferred anything out of there in 6 months or so.

Check spam folder?

Thanks and have been checking both. I’m also guessing they don’t work weekends so may have to wait till tomorrow. They are a fairly big Registrar so a live chat similar to Sibername would be nice.

Agreed - pretty lame for Rebel to not handle auth codes 24/7.

I use Bell and I'm always getting Rebel auth code emails blocked and deleted as Spam, even when I whitelist. It's something that seems to happen at the source and never reaches the Span folder. I get all other Rebel emails for orders, renewals, support etc. and only the Rebel email associated with the auto-generated auth code is blocked.

Rebel knows about this issue and it also happens with Rogers.

So to get around that, I either chat or call Rebel Support (chat works fastest) and get them to send the auth code to the registered email on the domain, but instead of generating it, tell them to use the Rebel SUPPORT EMAIL.

Works every time for me.

With godaddy I just download my domains and it puts them on a spreadsheet with transfer code, lock status etc. Has registration date, expiry date and all kinds of useful information.

I know the transfer codes for all my domains and keep them in a safe place.

Sure, but first you need to be able to get them, which is tough with Rebel + some ISPs.

Pretty sure if you keep contacting them someone will get back to you. I've transferred many out of rebel but not lately. Used to be you could get the codes automatically but sometimes I had to contact support if they didn't arrive for whatever reason.

I received the auth code early this morning. I guess they don’t work weekends for support.

Wow that's a bit of an annoying lockdown...

Hopefully they think of it as a "security" feature, and not just trying to make life hard.

I have transferred a few out of Rebel, all without problems and with quick response (just a few minutes as I recall).
