Used to be called CIRA WHOIS lookup but the widget actually does so much more.

Enter in the following ways...

word
word.ca
wordword
wordword.ca
etc.

The widget will tell you if the word is taken and you can look up whois.

If the word(s) are available then it will direct you to a list of registrars.

We thought the widget was underutilized calling it whois when it's really used to check availability of the domain and then shows the option of whois if the domain is taken.

Yes, it's so nice the way it lists the registrars or alternate domains






And in the case above it picked a magnificient alternate to red.ca

RealRed.ca and it's available for hand register!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS, We defaulted the appraisal widget from godaddy to graen.com because it seems to show more realistic values for .ca and the short term and long term outlook is a unique feature.

It's a much better tool for newcomers when they visit namepost.ca to look up a domain.
