Hi all. My first post here.

Recently made friends with a Canadian who has since retired down here in Mexico. Turns out they have owned a common three letter first name .ca domain for many years. They're wondering what it might be worth and what the market for such domains are.

I'm not familiar with the .CA market but told them that I'd ask. Wholesale and retail ranges welcomed.

Thank you.

Well just a quick appraisal here without diving too deep. I would say the value here is not based on it being a name. I think the value is more on it being an acronym.

I would say as a wholesale price (reseller) it would be mid $xxx to very low $x,xxx.

Retail is a bit tricky, but I would say mid $x,xxx to high $x,xxx.

Thank you. Was thinking both would be a smidge more, but again, I have no experience with .ca domains.

The .CA market is not like any other market. It is also not very liquid and sales are not as active as in .com. I provided a realistic appraisal for you. That doesn’t mean it can’t sell for more. As each domain is unique as I’m sure you’re aware.
