What Happened to the .xyz Domains that Sold for High Prices Two Years Ago? (1 Viewing)

I randomly checked 18 .xyz domains that were sold for over $10,000. These domains were sold before June 2022 and were all developed into Web3 websites. However, as of now, five of the high-priced ones have either shut down their websites or the domains are up for sale again (four of these were sold by Swetha). Some of the remaining websites appear to have not been updated for a long time.

Nobody visits .xyz sites, low traffic, sites close.

that was clearly a pump and dupe (dump) for domainers.

Majority of the sales happened when VCs were pumping money into Web3 / Crypto projects. Now the money is going into Ai companies. Still seeing .xyz sales and being used by end users.
