I was just looking at the Sibename control panel and it is very nicely laid out.

A redirection or masked redirection is super simple.

Now comes the migration of course and we have to use the antiquated WHC.ca control panel.

Has anyone on the forum figured out how to do a forward or better yet a masked forward on WHC?

It cannot be that difficult, I have a test domain sitting there and I can do nothing with it.

So I got this...

It appears forwarding a domain costs extra

At $1.49 per month it would add $17.88 to the price of the domain registration every year to forward the domain.
Now calculate that by hundreds of domains and WHC has effectively removed themselves from the domaining market

OK Guys... I know some of you are using WHC, what are you doing for forwarding?

hmmm, not sure if any serious domainers really are using them...

They made it clear they wanted to cater to domainers so I find that message you received as odd, especially since its a service that could easily be free (its truly that trivial). Its possible they plan to do that eventually, but that they are just going to take a while to get around to it. Or its possible that they don't see the value in giving it away for free either. Time will tell.

My advice is, just transfer your domains to your preferred registrar - even if you just recently registered the domains. Lets face it, if you were willing to reg it, you're willing to renew it for at least a little while. So just pay for the transfer now and keep your portfolio nicely consolidated at your favorite place.

Yes it is going to be problematic once they migrate the sibername stuff.
A TBR domain via sibername it is locked for 60 days and can you imagine not being able to forward it?

Once they go to the WHC control panel that will be a big issue.

Yep - it will be annoying.

Yup, I just confirmed it with support, they call it domain manager pro and it costs 0.99 cents per month, per domain to have it.

On a plus side...

Gassan from WHC emailed me and he said he is hoping to add domain forwarding as a free feature in the next few months.

I hope that for everyone's sake they keep the sibername control panel active until then because without forwarding and a 60 day lock when a TBR domain comes in it would land lock everyone for those 60 days.

We're not planning to make any changes to Sibername until the same level of functionality is available through WHC.

I have a couple dozen domains at Sibername won from TBR, haven't heard anything about this. Hoping the forwarding is still working. If not, I'd transfer out or just set the nameservers to parking or where I can control the page.

Forwarding does still work at Siber. As discussed in another thread make sure your name servers are set to
ns1.sibername.com
ns2.sibername.com
I thought they were set as default but apparently not
