WHC credit card holds on TBR (1.Viewing)

[notify]rlm[/notify] Great post Rob *THUMBSUP* very thorough and informative.

Thank you [notify]rlm[/notify] (appreciate the detail, very much) and everyone else who provided feedback, I'll take some time to digest and go through it and see how and what we can address.

In any case, I go to place another order and it says "you've already ordered these, remove them from my cart". WTF? Now I'm wondering, if my first order went through, why didn't YOU remove them from my cart? So now I've gotta start figuring out what ones I've already successfully ordered and remove them from my cart, so that I can place a new order ?? What a cluster f***. I bailed out and went back to Sibername to place more orders. HORRIBLE system. PLEASE fix before next week, this is unusable for a power user.

This just happened to me this week, and in my case, there was absolutely no way out. My best guess is that WHC had two instances of the same domain set in my Cart, and even deleting it from the on-screen cart and starting over did nothing.

This is crazy and we can't be the only two being caught in this insane system loop - somebody fix this!

It looks like some of the domains were moved from one TBR session to another and since we're trying to prevent people from placing backorders twice, it appears that some orders were blocked. We're working on a fix for this.

Yeah, that’s definitely what happened. But regardless if a domain got bumped to the next tbr or not, or if i just accidentally resubmitted a domain twice (which can easily happen), it should ignore the dups, warn the user, but proceed with adding the rest to my cart.

The easiest fix is to do what Siber and virtually ever other TBR registrar does, just move all "pushed domain" orders/bids over to the next week.

This solution provides consistency within the order system and doesn't force customers to madly search for which domains they need to reorder (and potentially fail as a hidden dupe).

And as RLM stated, even with this process, any duplicate order made in error or any other reason, should a) just show a warning and if needed b) process all other valid domain orders. That happens at other registrars where I get a "You have already ordered XYZ.ca" flash on the screen in red, then it's ignored and all my other valid orders are processed.

If a domain moves from one TBR session to another, your backorder should now also be moved going forward. Please let me know if you still encounter any issues like this.
