I have always liked .pro

painters.pro - says it all

plumber.pro etc.

It's perfect for a lot of businesses
Yeah, it is a natural fit. It is certainly better than like 99% of new gTLD as a term.
It predates them and has hardly any usage or awareness though.

I would be shocked if more than 1 in 1,000 people have even heard of the extension.

I used to like .WEB a lot more than I do now, and part of me thinks the market is mature enough to provide significant resistance to any new gTLD that has ideas of moving into a top position on the list, at least for buyers.

And apparently .WEB will be another "PREMIUM" system right off the bat, where if you want a word, name or LL/LLL then you need to pay $$$ and then renew for $$$.

There is also a good chance Verisign will not really do anything with it.

If you were going to target any extension to protect your COM/NET monopoly, this would be the extension IMO.

It is possible they mainly acquired it for that reason.

I think they will release it just so they don't get any more bad press, which is where the Premium Pricing model comes in. There is no competition with .COM/.NET when your pricing structure is totally different.

But no way .WEB debuts at $10 registrations. No way, no how.
