They are either concerned about Pandora Music sitting on the .com or Pandora jewelry sitting on a .net with both having trademarks of use in their fields.

Of course the generic term pandora cannot be used as a book store or a clothing shop with secret bargains called Pandora's Clothing or Pandora's Closet.

Yup according to GoDaddy the one word .ca is not listable even though I had it listed before..... hmm

Given that logic the word Apple is not listable in any extension regardless of how one uses it.

Apple.horse for Apple Horse Stables is just too risky.

This is happening all the time right now and GD just refused me for a pair of very generic 1-words this weekend. If this gets any worse then it's really going to curtail our marketplace options and we may all have to dump GD and use generic landers.

GoDaddy is "taking requests" from TM holders on which words, etc. to disallow listing on their marketplace, and it's getting a lot out hand. I can just imagine some corporation putting in requests to limit "and", "the" and "a' as part of their TM library.

The funny thing is that there's already a half-page of my "word + alt TLD" domains listed at GD with no problems, so it's definitely accelerating.

If I search for "pandora" at GoDaddy, pandora.info is marked as a "PREMIUM" domain, for sale for USD $395.

Oddly, if I filter for domains of 7-characters or less, nothing shows up (including Pandora.info, which is exactly 7 characters, which is visible when there are no filters!). 🤪

I submitted about 500 domains to godaddy auction, all of them are in Pending status with them asking me to make a txt file on each domain to verify. Well thats not going to happen, I can't make that change in bulk and I'm sure not doing it by hand.

Pending status has been a few days so I will see what happens, so far the only notification has been the rejection pandora.ca

With no DNS TXT record, GoDaddy is going to boot them all out.

I outlined any easy solution to this (courtesy of @bmetal) whereby you use a domain at a registrar that supports Aliases and put the TXT record on that one domain only (I use a mule).

Then you change all your 500 listing domains to the nameservers where alias/mule domain is registered, then copy and paste the list of 500 domains as "Aliases" to the record of that domain, thereby point to the DNS TXT record of the "mule" domain. After the 500 domains are authorized at the marketplace(s) then mass change the nameserver back to where you want them to point.

It speeds up the job immensely, as virtually all registrars allow you to bulk change nameservers and that's all you're really doing to the 500 domains.

Wouldn't an easier option be just to bulk change nameservers to godaddy and then change them back when done?

I know most registrars have bulk nameserver change so you would figure that would be the easiest way.

PS. I loaded the 500 domains on dan in a couple of keyclicks with no issues or rejections.

I'm not sure how changing the nameservers to GD would help, but you're willing to try. From my knowledge, there are only 2 ways to authorize - have the domains registered at GD or add the TXT to your DNS.

As for Dan, they have zero security there unless the domain is already listed, just like Afternic. GD requires the DNS TXT for every domain and if it's already listed you need to email support.

You just got incredibly lucky at Dan with no TXT code, as usually there are a few rejects.

Trust me, register a junk/mule domain at BM and I can walk you through it in a second. Once the domain is set up with DNS codes, it takes no more time to do it this way than anything else, and you can also auto-process existing Dan and Afternic listings that are old or used by scammers.

I have a perfect domain for that..... MapleDNS.ca of course :ROFLMAO:

Seriously though, I don't think I much care if they list at auction or not but there is an easy way to get the domains on afternic with virtually no effort.

Load your domains on DAN via bulk, the change all domains to BIN at 1,000,000 (temporarily to assure nobody buys it) and then Afternic picks it up automatically. Then you can go in and fine tune your BINS as you see fit or as you have time.

Dynadot and Namebright have Folders for domains where you can set custom DNS, privacy option, and nameserver. Easy to just change folder whenever you need to verify domains in bulk. Does your registrar have it?

I'm with WHC and they have limited bulk tools

Missing is Bulk forwarding and Bulk DNS as well as folders.

Mind you on my godaddy accounts I can do almost anything in bulk but those are other catalogs that I cherry pick from.

They have Pandora domains listed there already. 🤔 @jamesiles can answer why they're singling you out.
"Singling you out" - that's not happening. I'd encourage MapleDots to work with the trademark claims email address in the original email to find out more information.
