I recently upgraded my Username with the X Handles marketplace (FirstnameLastname to just Firstname). Someone else had my name before on an inactive account (Anne Geesen aka AGeesen). It's kind of dumb they don't forward the old username to the new one....

Depends on what kind of buyer it is IMO. Brand/business? Tell them the price directly (or leave room for negotiation) in the reply. If individuals, Tell them range of your expectations. Be nice!

I think it would've become normal to use whatever extension you wanted, to express yourself and your business/brand.
This notion of .com being the best (and the luxury/high-end feel of certain names on .com) wouldn't be as important when choosing their digital real estate to operate from...
I think the better mental exercise would be to ask: if all domain extensions that currently exist, were also to exist when .com and the first TLDs launched, which one do you think would be the most popular?
