But in the absence of an official forum rule stating that, it would behoove sellers to spend a few extra seconds and type C-A-D, as personally, I read the rules and didn't see anything, so I was unsure which currency you were using. I'm serious, as in me thinking "If I say yes to $2500 is he going to come back and ask for USD?"

Further to the above, if I get contacted off forum and someone says they want to buy it and you post sold later. What is binding me to selling to you? Nothing. What is
@MapleDots going to do in that instance? This is just a forum. We don’t need 10000 rules just so you can be “right”.

Absolutely nothing, but at least we'll have one party who's right and another party who's wrong, rather than just pure "I assumed this" and "I assumed that" confusion, and the forum can decide how to respond to the situation.
I'm not trying to get Maple to police the marketplace, I am just looking for added clarity.
In fact, where Maple might be called on to make a decision is when there are no stated currency rules and both parties could be viewed as correct in their individual "assumptions".

It no doubt a good point to put the "CAD unless otherwise specified" into the verbiage. But the reality is, I've never seen an be an issue here, I doubt it will ever be an issue here, and any thoughts of "rules" is exactly as
@MapleDots says, not the type of forum we really want to have here. Since we're all fairly sane and reasonable on here, I think we can let peer pressure handle the rest. If we get a member who becomes a regular problem, I'm sure

This is why I think it’s unnecessary. I have read zero rules. If I do something incorrectly and I’m advised I will look into it. I didn’t realize to be a member here I had to be informed in the day to day rules. I just go with the flow. I assume we all do that….but maybe that’s just me.

Come on, I think we need to know what currency we're dealing in, as that's a basic tenet of any form of commerce.
How would you feel if someone listed a domain at "1000", you said yes, and they asked you to send EUR? It's not against any forum rule, so they are technically in the right, so pay up.
Clarity counters chaos.

Again, no one is looking for Maple or anyone else to police the forum, I am just seeking clarity in terms of currency, and in lieu of that, a forum statement of what the default currency is if not openly stated.
If someone reneges, sells it offline, goes nuts and leaves the forum, who cares, but at least when I see a listing at "1000" I will be reasonably sure it's CAD and will then know whether I want to buy or not. The last thing I need is German Heinrich asking for EUR or English Bob looking to get paid in Pounds Sterling.

I would totally agree with this comparison if BestBuy.ca also listed some products in USD, which they don't. If they did, it would utter chaos.
You do realize that you can list in USD on DN.ca, right? If DN was CAD-only like BestBuy.ca, then we obviously wouldn't be having this conversation.
I added it for clarity but figured it should be specified in the opening post.

Like I said it would be common sense if you want a different currency that you would specify. The truth is this is a .CA forum. Everything should be in CAD$ unless specified. Back to the forum rules that I don’t read…if I made a mistake because somehow I have to honour pesos yes I will back out no matter what the rules say.

I think at this point we all agree that stating the "CAD unless otherwise stated" is a valid point, even though we know it'll never be enforceable anyways, nor that it has really ever been a problem. That's because its more of a common sense rule, really. In any case, that statement adds enough clarity to suffice for the marketplace rules/guidelines. No need to go any further. No need to hypothesize unlikely scenarios to prove points.

Don't assume!
I wasn't lying that when I saw the lower price of $2500 for DNE, I asked myself if that was CAD or USD... then I looked at the Guidelines, saw nothing and as I don't "assume" things without evidence, I would be very hesitant to hit the BIN if my upper limit was $2500 CAD.
I don't need hassle, I don't need extra problems, I don't need pinheads telling me "you should have known it was USD, that's what all the big marketplaces use!", etc.
I just wanted clarity and Maple has give that to us - I really don't see how assumptions, suppositions and conjecture are better than clearly spelling it out in a short sentence.

It would have killed you to ask I guess…since you need it in writing. I’ve been down this road before. I’ve had forum posts edited by the forum owner to prove his case in court. The forum rules mean nothing but I’m glad this situation is rectified for you.NOTE: I’m not referring about
