Well, it would be another "Restricted Name Release Week" and more money out the window.
The Registrars must be having a hell of a time!! May be not everyone.. just a handful I believe.

Before everyone goes crazy bidding on lol.ca ask yourself how you can use it in commerce and how many businesses can use lol.ca as a viable business website.

As nice as that domain is you may be sitting on an expensive purchase for quite a while... just something to consider.

As nice as that domain is you may be sitting on an expensive purchase for quite a while... just something to consider.

There has been a LOT of those "you might own it for life" expensive TBR auction domains, and they haven't listened so far so it's doubtful anything will change in the near future.

Personally, I am looking forward to the "Restricted Domain Mania" to die down and for reality to hit home, as lately the TBR is becoming a lot like work.

I have a feeling there will be more of them in the future

After the Restricted Domains stop flowing onto the list? Highly doubtful as this is the common "Low-Hanging Fruit" phenomenon, whereby every Tom, Dick and Harry hears about this and floods onto the market parsing through a tiny list of CIRA releases each week and running up against other speculators at auction.

It's like the CIRA is tossing Pokemon cards out on the highway and then watching the kids try to dodge the cars to pick them up. Once the CIRA stops doing this, the kids (those that are left anyway) move onto other equally-intellectual pursuits.

So once CIRA is no longer filling the tree with this kind of easy-to-find TBR domain fruit, it's not quite so attractive to the fly-by-night crowd and they'll quickly find something else sparkly to catch their attention. Plus, I think most of them have figured out this is not an immediate "Get Rich" scheme and things will probably cool down by March.

What's going in TBR land.. it's going to be crazy hot week.

It's definitely going to be a very zany week for LLLs but I don't see as many prime single-words as last week.

Still, some of those 3-letters are going to go wild at auction.

It looks like the Porno King just dropped a crapload out of his .CA domain portfolio. 🤦‍♀️

And naturally, we also have HughHefner.ca.

Hey Frank,
Below, you'll find some of the hottest .CA domains available to backorder this week. These names will likely attract attention, so place your bid before 2023-02-15 at 2:45 pm ET sharp to get in on the auction.
If you're looking for something more specific, you can always search the full list with your own keywords.

Want to learn more about domains and backordering? ... We recommend you read about the lifecycle of a domain name, domain investing and domain backordering.
And stay tuned! The next few weeks promise to be exciting and full of opportunities for those into domain backordering. Starting this week and until the end of March, CIRA will be releasing thousands of previously blocked domains (.CA domains that have never been made available before.) You can find the full list and release dates here.
Don't see the name you want? Stay tuned for next week's backorder list!
Happy bidding!
Cheers,
Frank (Chief Domain Nerd here at WHC)

The list has a few very interesting picks this week

Thanks to WHC-FM @FM for doing all the hard work (y)
Thank you - After expanding my selection criteria, I had more names on the list and ended up removing a few again since it was getting too long ;-) An interesting list this week.

This "Restricted Domain Hype" is getting out of hand - I just went to WHC and this is the first I've ever had to load "All" to see every active TBR bid.

I'm thinking the end user .CA market probably won't be able to handle these kind of monthly numbers. LOL

WHC-FM @FM You might want to get your tech guys to add in 150 and 200 as drop-down options to speed things up.

Now all you have to do is a) make the list sortable, b) update it every minute for changes, and then c) put in links so I can add the domains directly to my WHC cart. :p

My Fool's Gold Picks of the Week
Domains that are usually okay in terms of quality, but will sell for more than they should.

LLL: WMP.ca, LLT.ca, KFA.ca and KFE.ca

Single-words/Names: Mage.ca and Kellys.ca

* Watch out for those 's first names - I'm living proof of their almost total lack of salability, though I only dabble with prime names at $20 so my losses are minimal.
