If a client wishes to pay in Canadian dollars, but you want the transaction to take place on a marketplace, what options are there? This seems a straightforward question, but it seems most do not? Thanks for any help.

On a different but related question, do any of the Canadian registrars have any sort of bring your lead service for .ca domain names? Say I have a customer who wants to buy a .ca and pay in CDN $. I send him to the registrar where the name is registered, and he sets up an account. I tell that registrar I have a lead and we have agreed on price $$$$ in Canadian dollars for domain XX. They accept his/her payment in Canadian dollars, with my authority transfer the name to his/her account, and then pay me, minus the commission for the service. This would seem not hard, and I wonder if WHC or someone else offers it already?

Thanks,

Bob

You're right that no marketplaces accept CAD, as far as I'm aware of... but you could always use escrow.com now that they accept CAD payments. However, now that I look further into it, it appears they only accept CAD for wires, and not from credit cards or paypal?

This is according to their help pages, but maybe they do still accept CAD payments by credit card and simply haven't updated their website yet. I doubt that's the case, but they only recently started accepting CAD about a year ago.

I've been using wise.com

Easy to use, cheaper than paypal

It's not a marketplace but it works to receive funds.
I seem to have no problems with holding the domain until I get payment.
I issue an invoice, receive payment and I transfer the domain. Very rarely do I ever get someone saying they don't trust they will get the domain after payment is sent. I simply say if you want it proceed forward, if not look for something else. I don't lose any deals over it, probably because I deal mostly with Canadians.
