GoDaddy Auctions just notified me that the winning bidder didn’t complete the transaction for the domain su•xyz & that I am now the winner as the second place bidder. Gee, I wonder why they didn’t complete the transaction… this doesn’t show up when bidding on their Investor app pic.twitter.com/7MCOp6U0nu

Should the auction statrt over or should the second highest bidder be awarded the domain?

1. It leaves a bunch of questions, do I want the domain two weeks after the fact.

2. Should I be committed to the domain two weeks after the fact.

3. Maybe I spent my money somewhere else in the meantime!

I'd tell em to take a hike, if I don't have the winning bid I consider the matter closed.

Domainers need to read all the fine print or check the renewal fees on sites like tian.hu before bidding if it's a GTLD domain.

True, but the marketplace needs to make it absolutely clear with these absurd renewal fees.

No one is bidding on a domain and expecting a $3K/year renewal fee.

And according to the OP, he was using the GD Investor App to bid and it doesn't show the renewal price.

Yeah, I am going to try to check that.

If there is no disclosure, that would be a major issue.

Any credit card issuer would likely side with the complainant regarding that.
