My guess is either the Liberals squeek out a narrow win, or the Conservatives get a big win and these polls have been a sham by mainstream media to encourage Liberal votes. I am still shocked that the Liberals are even in the race after their record of the past ten years, it says a lot about Canadian voters if it's a close race. and not in a good way.

I saw in some news last few days that BC was predicted to go very Blue, so we'll see.

Blame Trump for the results.

The election completely changed with the 51st state threats, trade war, and tarriff bullshit, among other things.

Mark Carney was 14% to win on Polymarket on January 20th, when Trump was sworn in.

Not to mention the average Canadian seems to have short term memory loss and various conditions of mental illness.

We see Carney and the Liberals enact plans to "get rid of the Carbon Tax", "decrease the flood of foreign students", "lower mass immigration levels to create more affordable housing", and "stop companies from abusing the Temporary Foreign Worker Program" and suddenly Canadians think the Liberals are heroes of the land by coming to our aid, when it was the Liberals themselves who created all these problems.

It's like a group of victims being whipped and beaten every day for 9 years, then the assailant stops the abuse and let's them go, and is immediately branded a savior and given a medal. The Canadian Press responds with headlines like "Heroic man saves kidnapped people from daily torture!"

That's the country we live in.

So many Canadians seem to have ADHD or are the victims of will ignorance, that a political party can totally screw up the country to the point where their leader is the most hated man in Canada, then right before the election, dredge up a new leader, temporarily repeal many of the policies that created these horrific problems, and then amazingly win another term. Only in Canada.

The world must view us like drooling idiots with a victim complex, and they're absolutely right.

For the first time in my life.... I am at a loss for words

I can hardly wait for Carney and the Liberals to start devising new taxes and surcharges to implement (or reimplement), creating more expensive "green initiatives", flooding Canada with more and more and more and more people, sitting idly by and watching crime run rampant in our cities, and continuing to mass-print money and spending it like drunken sailors... then listen to all the bleeding-heart Liberals complaining that they don't feel safe in their neighborhood, can't get a job, or are unable to afford housing or food.

If you hear laughter in the distance, it'll be me.

I also wonder if it will reduce .ca sales for the big $ domains, if people worry or consider ab/etc may leave Canada. I know it's a what if, but i definitely thought about it.

All we can do is live our lives and hope for the best at this point. enjoy family and friends and shield yourselves as best and legally possible from any Liberal buffoonery that’s to come. At least it’s only a minority government that can fall if they get too far out of line.

What happened in Canada's election is likely to play out in Australia next. It's a very similar trend line.

I would prefer the US had more than a two party system, so some governing coalition actually had to be reached.

The worst outcome is usually consolidation of power in one party, regardless of the party.

Split government at least can keep things from getting extreme.

On many issues like 75% - 80% of people agree, but the incentive in politics is to drive people apart for their own political gain.

The video says "was supposed to work", the text says "was working".

As far as I know votes are counted at the polling station (table) before they are sent to the regional office and the count is called in to the regional office. Then the votes are sealed and sent to the regional office.

My prediction is they will somehow buy the missing seats and govern with a majority for 4 years.

Agreed, and then the mask comes off and they go full Trudeau 2.0 mode. Carney even has that "evil smirk" look down pat.

I can hardly wait to hear all the Liberals screaming about the "new" Green Air Surcharge on oil and gas, as well as more backroom dealings on Immigration, Foreign Workers and Foreign Students, thus leading to higher inflation and $1,00,000 homes in Sault Saint Marie.

Yeah, not sure what he meant by that. Maybe he misspoke?

I was reading some of the comments and it appears that it happened elsewhere as well…. Although, as Abraham once said, never believe everything you read on the internet.
